HelloI am carrying out research on Down Grange House in Basingstoke, Hants, which was in the occupation of Robert Augustus Hankey Hirst from 1853-1886. He was the elder brother of Frederick Hotham Hirst,an occupant of Great Ropers, South Weald, Essex,which was in the Hirst family from 1771-1949. Their father was John Hirst, buried in this grave with Frederick and siblings, but not Robert.The gravestone photo will help with this research.Thanks very much.Barry Hedger
